About our vision
As an interdisciplinary team of students at Santa Clara University, we aim to incorporate our diverse backgrounds to sustainably expand the UCCE's ASP project.
Values
Our values reflect innovation, community, and sustainability. We are committed to nurturing practical, impactful solutions, emphasizing accessible and user-centric design in the ASP composting system. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, we champion educational empowerment and environmental stewardship, fostering a culture of inclusivity and continuous improvement. Through ethical engagement and thoughtful execution, we strive to make meaningful contributions to sustainable agricultural practices and community well-being.
Our Experience
From the beginning to the final stages of our project with the UCCE, our team experienced significant development and learning. After our initial introduction to UCCE and understanding their need for an efficient watering system for composting, we undertook an iterative design and testing process. Our regular team meetings and constant communication with UCCE allowed us to stay on track, leading to the successful identification of customer profiles and formulation of designs based on previous solutions. The project's health remained strong, evidenced by our progress in prototyping, receiving constructive feedback, and making necessary revisions.
In the final phase, we refined our design based on success metrics and customer preferences. The site visits were crucial; they gave us firsthand insights into the practical aspects of our design, leading to several revisions. Our team faced challenges like weather factors and resource management, yet we overcame these through adaptability. The final product met UCCE's criteria for portability, automation, durability, and affordability, reflecting our dedication and collaborative effort to deliver a solution that was effective and aligned with UCCE's mission.
